Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

From the bottom of my heart I would like to greet you on the occasion of the upcoming feasts of the Nativity of All Holy Theotokos and Ever-Virgin Mary and the Exaltation of the Holy Cross.

I hope that August was a success for all of us and we successfully completed the Dormotion lent for our spiritual growth and benefit, and that we celebrated the great feast of the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos.

I would like to express my gratitude to all those who took part in the preparation and organization of the choral master class with Vladimir Gorbik, first of all to our parish secretary Julia, the Sisterhood, who worked to ensure that all participants received both spiritual and physical food, and all, who enrolled in the master class and supported this program which is important for the spiritual growth and development of our parish.

I want to thank everyone who generously responded to our request for financial assistance to balance our parish budget and again remind all those who did not have time to take part in this undertaking, please find an opportunity to help us.

On behalf of the parish, we express our gratitude to all donors for the installation of a video surveillance and protection (security) system. Since the beginning of this fundraiser, we managed to raise about $ 11,000.00. As you remember, the cost of the whole project is $ 20,000.00, so we still have to collect $ 9,000.00 to complete this project. Please try to assist us in completion of this undertaking.

Dear brothers and sisters, last year we created a wish list. Many of you have generously donated to purchase new necessary church furniture and Liturgical icons. Almost all the items were ordered and over the past year they were delivered as soon as they were ready.

In the middle of summer, we finally got a complete series of icons of the twelve feasts in the kiots, which we have already begun to use during our services. The largest order was church furniture (an altar table covering, a diaconicon and an analogions). All these items, as well as icons, are unique and are handmade by iconographers and wood carvers specially for our parish to harmoniously compliment the existing aesthetic style of our church. Many of you were interested in what stage of manufacture these items are and when we can see them in our temple. I want to give you a series of photographs from the workshop of the carvers who are working on the creation of church furniture items. In these photos you will see that many of them are at the stage of completion, and I hope that after all these items are finished (in the near future) they will be sent to our church.

I know that we are all eagerly waiting to see the renewal of our temple. Let's have a little more patience, because all these items are not just purchased in ready-made form, but are custom made specially for the interior of our cathedral.

I want to express my gratitude to Mrs. Marina Burgmaer for her generous gift for the beautification of our church courtyard.

At the beginning of September we will start classes for our Saturday and Sunday schools. We invite all parents, grandmothers and grandfathers to enroll your children to our parish programs, where they will be able not only to learn language and culture, but first of all to learn our Orthodox faith and its vital traditions.

This year we are going to start our children's church choir so the kids will be even more interested and we will be able to see how their God-given talents are used to glorify Our Heavenly Father.

I ask for your holy prayers, since a lot of projects have been launched this summer, including the reconstruction of the parish buildings and the conversion of the kiosk book and icon store, and for their successful completion we need your prayerful support and help.

I ask for your holy prayers and as before I am available via mobile phone (818) 213-7176 and via e-mail:
